Compassion fatigue, also known as a Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder, is a term that refers to a gradual lessening of compassion over time. It is common among victims of trauma and individuals that work directly with victims of trauma.  Services are available to support victims of trauma, caregivers, clergy and healthcare professionals who provide care and support to victims of trauma.

Traumatic events damage children emotionally and psychologically. Their trauma stays trapped in their body - they feel overwhelmed, they can't sleep, they're anxious, depressed, failing in school, angry and socially isolated. They need our caring support as they are completely vulnerable.  Services are available to allow them to expose their trauma, formulate their narrative and to begin to process their experiences.
